As we begin winding down 2019, it's time to take a moment to celebrate the new Collaborans who joined our various engineering and administrative teams in Q2 & Q3 this year!
Comprised of some of the most motivated and active Open Source contributors and maintainers around the world, Collaborans share an enduring passion for technology and Open Source, and these 14 new joiners are no different.
Please join us in welcoming these newest members of our ever-growing family!
Erica Ryoo joined Collabora as a People Operations Administrator based in our Montreal office. She brings with her educational background in Human Resources Management and years of experience at a diplomatic mission working with people around the globe. |
Dafna Hirschfeld joined our Core team as a Consultant Software Engineer who is based in Germany. She mainly worked with Linux environments mostly implementing communication protocols. During her Outreachy internship, she was extending the Vicodec driver in the media subsystem of the Linux kernel. |
Ludovico de Nittis is a recent graduate from Bologna University and a GNOME foundation member who is currently based in Italy. Last year, he participated in Google Summer of Code and after his graduation he did an internship with GNOME regarding protection against malicious USB devices. |
Rohan Garg joined our team as a Graphics Engineer. Having worked on KDE Plasma and Linux integration for ARM boards previously, he wants to further the case for Panfrost and promote open source graphics drivers in the ARM world. |
Stéphane Cerveau joined our multimedia team as a Consultant Senior Software Engineer. His focus is on hardware support for various SOCs (Set Top box, TV) including board bringup. His expertise is in cross platform Multimedia frameworks (GStreamer, DLNA, DVB). |
Alyssa Rosenzweig joined the Graphics team as a Software Developer, continuing her work on the Panfrost open-source graphics driver for Mali GPUs. Since September, she has been be studying Applied Mathematics at the University of Toronto as a Lester B. Pearson International Scholar. |
Stelios Milidonis joined our Sysadmin team as a Consultant Senior Systems Administration Engineer. He has been working as a Linux systems administrator for over 10 years now. His skills range from security hardening, web related services, email services, databases, virtualization and networking. His preferred flavor of Linux is Debian and he loves working with anything open source related. |

Marcus Edel, who is based in Germany, joined the Multimedia team as a Consultant Software Engineer. He spent the past 8 years designing and writing open software with a focus on machine learning. In his research, one important thing he does is developing the fast C++ machine learning library mlpack and ensmallen an efficient mathematical optimization library, which contains a growing collection of high-quality implementations of cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and optimizations in use by both research groups and industry groups worldwide. The particular research he is focusing on is a niche type of algorithm called non-convex optimization, black-box optimization, recurrent neural networks and model compression. In short, he is interested in making slow algorithms fast. And, fast algorithms faster. At other times, he enjoys climbing a mountain or spending time paragliding over meadows and wood. Also, he has yet to meet someone who can beat him at super Mario Kart. |
Quim Aguado Puig is a recent graduate who joined Collabora as a Software Engineer Intern in the graphics team and he is based in Barcelona.
